'Perdu Aparis' a Lost in Paris Haute Shabby Bear
'Perdu Aparis' (Lost in Paris) is an 8" Parisian Haute Shabby La De Da' Artisan Bear. He is a primitive style bear, meant to look like he has been worn from many years of love. He views the world through premium glass eyes, with hand painted creamy chocolate iris's. His legs/feet are a modified hockey stick design, his long arms hang gracefully and tight to his sides. His slight concave chest resembles an "adored before" long loved bear whose stuffing is a bit worn down from many hugs. His belly is very rotund. He is created in an extreme matted German mohair, multi process/hand dyed in two tones of a pale, faded green. He has been treated and hand tinted/painted in multiple shades of clay and gray then blended for a watercolor effect around the eyes and for an aged, vintage appeal throughout the body to appear "stained". He is very well loved, plucked, weathered and worn to look like a bear from yester-year. Center seam head design. His face has been needle sculpted to create a slightly upturned nose featuring a cute profile. He is stuffed with poly, copper shot (belly) and the highest quality lavender buds, imported from Provence, France. Lavender is a La De Da' signature element added to all of my bears to enhance the "hug" experience with a gentle, therapeutic natural scent. Squeezing the buds helps release the scent, so you get a little bit of relaxation with every hug. He is a lovely weight, under one pound.
His nose is embroidered in a imperfect fashion which has been sanded and treated to look very worn and old. His ears are chubby and stuffed for a round full effect. His arms and legs are disk jointed and his round head is wobble jointed for movement making him nod more for a shy, "pick me up" appeal. He wears a one of a kind coffee stained waistcoat, embellished with Parisian text and images, accented with a vintage black rose topped with a vintage rose button for a bit of la de da' flair. He perches on his handmade coordinating shaggy mohair cloud pillow to comfort him while he finds his Mommy on the streets of Paris. He can not stand on her own but can be propped.
All of my designs are one of kind, no two bears are alike. From my heart to your hand....I hope the La De Da' Bears bring you a smile.
