'Minable Sweetpunk'

'Minable Sweetpunk' is the first of a new redesign of my 6.5" line of clay nose bears. Minable is an 8.5" mohair La De Da' Parisian 'Douceur de Temps'....."Sweetness of Time" style Parisian, Steampunk, Shabby Artisan Bear. Sculpted clay nose (no mold, free hand), sculpted leather eye lids with "wet" tear accents around her glass eyes for a magical and dimensional gaze. Her mouth is hand-painted. She is a center seam head design, hand shaded. Her arms and legs are thread jointed and her head is wobble jointed for a little movement making her nod more for a shy, "pick me up" appeal. She has extra long arms that hang gracefully and tight to her sides and somewhat of a concave chest to resemble a long loved bear whose stuffing is a bit worn from many hugs. Her belly is very rotund. :-) She is created in a matted, sparse, two tones of hand dyed muted chartreuse mohair. She has been treated and hand tinted/painted in multiple shades of moss green, blush pink and clay pigments then blended for a watercolor effect around the eyes/cheek area and for an aged, vintage appeal throughout the body. She is very well loved, plucked, weathered and worn to look like a bear from yester-year. She is stuffed with poly, copper shot (belly) and lavender buds, imported from Provence, France. I am adding lavender to all of my bears for a distinct signature element and to enhance the "hug" experience with a gentle, therapeutic natural scent. Squeezing the buds helps release the scent....it is very mild. She wears a hand dyed and hand detailed french text with designs of crowns, birds, butterflies, shabby ribbon styled with a millinery parchment pale yellow rose on her head and a vintage style, ornate antique clock hand around her neck for a bit of la de da' steampunk flair. She can stand on her own with a little help. She has a cute 'pigeon toed' stance when standing giving her a certain whimsy. Inspiration: My other passion in life is photography, mixed media painting and digital art. This little girl was inspired by my work from this past Winter incorporating modern images into the Steampunk genre of mixed media digital art. I have a collection which will be featured in the coming months of my digital work. It is a marriage of Parisian, modern,shabby,Victorian styles in a dream like state.
